BRIEF:
How can digital design be used to explore the fusion of Reggae, Ska, and British Punk Rock as a reflection of the influence of the Caribbean diaspora in Britain on British subcultures.
With the aim to engage a British Gen Z audience
SOLUTION: I designed a website that highlights key figures that were a part of this fusion, contributing to the diversification of this iconic music genre.
By using eye-catching digital design skills - motion graphics, digital illustrations and video collage. I aim to create a hypothetical brand , Modern Britain, that explores the history of diversity in Britain. My project - LIKE MINDED REBELS - is one of those stories.
Visually I’ve leant into urban aesthetics to appeal to a GENZ audience and reflect the D-I-Y aspect of Punk Rock culture to made decision decisions for LMR. The logo is two figures, a stereotypical white punk rock man and caribbean man with dreadlocks, symbolising the British and Caribbean culture coming together and my main message of my project - diversity and inclusivity.
